Genesis 1

In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. 2 And the earth was desolate and void; and darkness was upon the surface of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the surface of the waters.
And God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light. 4 And God saw the light, that it was good, and God divided the light from the darkness. 5 And God called the light day, and the darkness he called night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.
And God said, “Let there be an expanse between the waters, and let it separate the waters from the waters”. 7 And God made the expanse, and separated the waters which were under the expanse from the waters which were above the expanse. And it was so. 8 And God called the expanse “heaven”. And the evening and the morning were the second day.
And God said, “Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together to one place, and let the dry land appear”. And it was so. 10 And God called the dry land earth, and the gathering together of the waters he called seas. And God saw that it was good.
And God said, “Let the earth bring forth vegetation, the plant bearing seed and the fruit tree on the earth bearing fruit according to its kind, with its seed in it”. And it was so. 12 And the earth brought forth vegetation, the plant bearing seed according to its kind, and the tree bearing fruit, with its seed in it, according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. 13 And the evening and the morning were the third day.
And God said, “Let there be lights in the expanse of the heaven to separate the day from the night, and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years, 15 and let them be for lights in the expanse of the heaven to give light upon the earth”. And it was so. 16 And God made two great lights: the greater light to govern the day, and the lesser light to govern the night. He made the stars also. 17 And God set them in the expanse of the heaven to give light upon the earth, 18 and to govern the day and the night, and to separate the light from the darkness. And God saw that it was good. 19 And the evening and the morning were the fourth day.
And God said, “Let the waters teem with living, moving creatures, and let birds fly above the earth in the open expanse of heaven”. 21 And God created great sea monsters, and every living moving creature, according to its kind, with which the waters teem, and every winged bird according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. 22 And God blessed them, saying, “Be fruitful, and increase in number, and fill the waters in the seas, and let birds increase in number on the earth”. 23 And the evening and the morning were the fifth day.
And God said, “Let the earth bring forth the living creature according to its kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth according to its kind”. And it was so. 25 And God made the beast of the earth according to its kind, and cattle according to their kind, and everything that creeps on the earth according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.
And God said, “Let us make man in our image, according to our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea, and over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth”. 27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him. He created them male and female.
And God blessed them and God said to them, “Be fruitful, and increase in number, and fill the earth, and subdue it, and rule over the fish of the sea, and over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth”.
And God said, “Look, I have given you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth, and every tree on which is the fruit of a seed-bearing tree. It will be food for you. 30 And to every beast of the earth, and to every bird of the air, and to everything that creeps on the earth that has life, I have given every green plant for food”. And it was so.
And God looked at everything that he had made, and saw that it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.
